Nehimba has a wonderful location on its own 43,500 acre private concession within the northern section of Hwange National Park, where only a few other lodges are located, giving it the advantage of human ‘traffic’ being at a minimum. Nehimba joined the Imvelo group in 2015 and is a superb addition to this fantastic company who are focussed on running lodges that actively support both the local community and conservation in Zimbabwe. The lodge and all of the seven rooms overlook a waterhole called the Nehimba Pan, and often elephants will come to drink from the pan, or from the lodge’s swimming pool which has much sweeter water in it! Two of the rooms are family rooms which can sleep up to four people, and the other rooms are for two people sharing (either twin or king), so the lodge can take up to 18 people as a maximum.
As well as the usual game drives, night drives and walking safaris, Nehimba also has a hide close to the lodge and can offer day drives out to visit historical ruins and conservation areas within the park, combining game viewing with this.
