Musango is situated on a small island on Lake Kariba just outside the border of Matusadona National Park. Owner run and managed by Steve and Wendy Edwards, Musango is an authentic bush camp offering personal attention, over 35 years of wildlife experience and good old-fashioned hospitality. Steve was the Matusadona head warden for three years during his 18 years working for the Department of National Parks and Wild Life Management and his incredible knowledge, passion and love of the bush have earned him a reputation as one of Africa’s top guides. He is an avid photographer, keen bird watcher, amateur astrologer and is fascinated by palaeontology.
Accommodation consists of eight tents under an A-frame of thatch, shaded by woodland and facing east over the lake towards sunrise. There are six standard tented rooms, two tented ‘honeymoon’ suites with private splash pools. All tents include en-suite facilities built of natural stone. The main guest areas consist of a double story structure that houses the horseshoe shaped dining table, bar and upstairs sitting room. There is a small pool and fire pit.
Activities include both land and water based safaris, fishing, tracking black rhino, and a visit to a local village and school. The biggest attraction of Musango is its authenticity – here it is all about experiences and great guiding.
